Our History

The Network was established in 2004 as a project managed by the learning disability charity Hft. It was registered as a company limited by guarantee in July 2007, with three initial trustees from the project steering group and registered as a charity in July 2008.  It closed in 2017 and this website and the resources found here are part of the Network's legacy.

Who is a family carer?

A family carer has personal experience of caring for a family member who has a learning disability, even if that individual has moved away from home.

You can select your region from the map for information about groups in your area which are members of the Network.
