What We Do

The Network used to link groups and organisations that support families that include an adult with a learning disability.

The key objective was to work together to promote better life chances for families that include someone with a learning disability.

By linking groups and organisation we gave a national focus to a wide range of policy issues concerning family carers of adults with a learning disability. These family carers increasingly include people with a learning disability who are family carers in their own right.

The Network shared ideas and the development of good practice.

Whilst the Network is no longer in existance Learning Disability England shares our aims and values, and has many family members within its membership.

LDE would like to hear from you if you feel your work would benefit from a family carer perspective.

LDE circulate a newsletter and information highlighting key national developments and holds events to enable groups, organisations and individual family carers to come together to share ideas and to discuss policy issues.
